Kevin Porter is becoming quite the journalist lately. (Kevin Reporter?) Here he kept his promise to interview random friends in the photo/video world with a cool Stew Johnson interview about his video classic, Home Of The Brave. Stew is responsible for a lot of great videos and this is arguably one of the best ever.

I Like The Weekend

Monday, June 25th, 2007

flattie boombalatie.

It was a busy weekend out at the tiki trails. First Tony Hamlin and the Rochester crew came down and slayed it. Then it was good times with the Bad Timing crew when Geoff Slattery, Darryl Tocco, and crew made an appearance. Old school Drexelbrook heads were also in the house, Don the Magic Swan and Carmine the Little Rugu. Check out this page on I like the weekend dot com for a few photos. Also click on the VIDS link to see some crazy action.

Sneak Peek: V2 Aqua/Orange

Monday, June 25th, 2007

orchid v2 aqua

This is perhaps the wildest looking Orchid shoe we’ve made to date, Van Homan’s limited Aqua V2. This colorway is based on the paintings in the Little Devil warehouse bowl, which Van rides like no other. The aqua is a dead on match for the pool while the orange and black represent the sunset (there’s even a little palm tree on the heels). These will be available starting next month but they’re in really limited quantity. If you want a pair grab them up quick.

Video: 2 by 4 Woodward

Monday, June 25th, 2007

Van Homan, Randy Brown and a few of the Two By Four guys made a trip up to Woodward recently. Darryl Tocco put together a nice video part. Check it out.

Step On It: Washington

Friday, June 22nd, 2007

Here’s episode 6 of the Orchid Step On It video filmed around the Seattle, Washington area. This is my favorite part next to Utah. Good riding and Sabbath will always be in style. There are some awesome street spots in Seattle and we had the pleasure of riding with Sean Burns, a legitimate lunatic.

LDTV: JJ Palmere

Wednesday, June 20th, 2007

ldtv-jj palmere

Little Devil flow rider J.J. Palmere broke out an unbelievable part for LDTV. I don’t even know what to say besides, “Why is this dude not on the pro team?” With skills to spare and a zebra stripe headband like his boy Garrett Reynolds, JJ is definitely going places. Watch the part and tell me I’m wrong. You won’t!

Tiki Trail Jam: 777

Monday, June 18th, 2007

randy brown, tiki turndown

Hopefully you’ve noticed the banner ad to the right by now. The Tiki Trail Jam is going down on 07/07/07, from 3pm - 9pm. That’s the Saturday after the 4th of July. We’ve already had a ton of pro riders who’ve confirmed they’ll be there. If you’re near the PA/NJ area don’t miss this event because it’s going to be a good time. Here’s what’s going down:

1. BMX trail demo with the the Orchid and Little Devil team. Van Homan, Matt Beringer, Corey Martinez, Rob Wise, Randy Brown, Brian Hunt, Geoff Slattery and more.

2. Two bands, Hostages and Murder, Texas. These guys practice in our warehouse and they’re really heavy in person. Both bands feature employees from Trans Am.

3. Super Sale on Orchid and Little Devil products.

4. Barbeque all day long.

5. It’s FREE!!! Hope to see you there.

Sneak Peek: Break Shoe

Monday, June 18th, 2007

the break

Here’s a preview of our new team model called The Break. It’s designed to be a lower price model and will retail in the USA for only $60.00. This is also our first shoe to feature the new Orchid stripe logo. People have been flipping out about this shoe when they visit the office. This colorway is pretty nice if you want to stand out. If you like to keep it simple we have a black colorway coming out as well. Next month…watch out.

Step On It: Oregon Trails

Friday, June 15th, 2007

Another week, another free Orchid video part. This section was filmed at the best trails in the west (figure it out). Somebody once described Step On It as a hippy video and I think this part may be single handedly responsible for that. We’re definitely not hippies (okay maybe Kevin Porter) but anyone who has ever spent weeks at a time digging in the woods may start feeling at one with mother nature. We decided to give the rock a rest and capture a more earthy vibe here.

Matt Beringer on Defgrip

beringer snowbike

Here’s a preview of the new Little Devil ad that’s coming out in Dig Magazine. There’s also a feature on Defgrip with another photo from this shoot. It’s in their Random Wednesday photo section. Take a look. Also, if you want to see a larger version of this ad Peep It Here. In case you can’t tell riding this snowbike is way harder than riding a bmx with wheels. Matt rules on this thing and even bombs mountains straight down, faster than I could snowboard. So crazy.
